November
27, 2003:
It has been a
busy month of catching fish out on Lake
Seminole. As you can see, we had several people
we took out over the past 30 days that have caught a
bunch of largemouth bass and specs. Take a look
and we hope y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving
holiday.

Richie Sullivan and I
decided to go out for a 1/2 day on Sunday and caught a
boatload of Specs. We had a really good time and you
can see two of those Specs that Richie is holding
up. He's not done much spec fishing, but he was
a fast learner and caught on real quick on how to
catch 'em. I even had to make him come in out of the
sun, as he took to gettin' the "fever" for
catchin' them Specs.

Give me a holler
if you want to catch some "Bass fever"
yourself!

great fishermen and fisherwomen out there. Here

They are a great group of guys and we really had a
nice day of Fishing.

10th, 2003:
On Thursday of this week I had the pleasure of fishing with Richard Olney and his son (whom for the purpose of this story we will call "Young Master Olney"). Mother Nature had no mercy on us, the temperature never reached 60 degrees, the wind got up to close to 30 mph and the swells were some of the largest we've seen. Young Master Olney and his dad climbed into the boat with me at daylight and we headed out for a day of tough fishing. By the time I put the trolling motor down, Young Master Olney, had his rod out and began casting. I was fishing a trick worm and had a few early bites. As soon as Young Master Olney saw this, he changed up and began throwing one himself. Not being his normal lure of choice, I offered a few quick instructions and in minutes he was mastering the technique.
Fishing from the time I sat the boat down in the first spot
until we went in for lunch, he never slowed up. Returning to the lake, after lunch at
Jack Wingates, he was right back on the front deck with his first cast out by the time the trolling motor hit the water. Cast after skillful cast from that moment til the end of the trip. Young Master Olney landed two very nice lunkers with all the skill of a pro. When the day had ended I felt honored to have spent the day with such an avid fisherman. This young man has what it takes; dedication, determination, patience, concentration and great technique. This is not luck. This young man fishes a pond near home in Dunwoody, Georgia. He doesn't spend those hours kicking around and playing. He fishes nine hours straight through and works the pond methodically, picking apart section after section. This young man is one that we will surely see in the Future of Fishing. And he has plenty of years to make his mark, as this avid fisherman is only 9 years old. It was certainly my pleasure to be his guide.

April
5th, 2003:
Saturday
afternoon, I enjoyed a 3 hour trip with Heath, one of
the talented local fisherman.
This young man loves to fish and has fished
several of the lakes and ponds around the Thomasville
area, and is very familiar with the various types of
fishing techniques. He will definitely be a
GREAT angler one day!
Heath is a 7th grader in Thomasville
and he is the nephew of Tina Barfield (her and her
husband, Mark, are the owners of Jack
Wingate’s Lodge). Heath and I fished for
bass, bream and shellcrackers. As you can see,
he had a great time so drop
me a line or give me a call if you are looking
to set-up a fishing trip for you or your youngin!
